Not like that, get your heads out of the gutter.
I'm tired of getting my hands oily and dirty every time I grab a hammer for a household project. How do you keep your sockets, wrenches, hammers, etc looking new?

I wipe down my tools after every time I use them. It's annoying after you're tired and ready to quit but it works out better in the long run.

Lightly oiled rag to give the wrenches a thin film of oil to prevent dirt from sticking. Also gives them a good shine.
like so.

At the place I work most of us wipe down the tools every time we use them. Always fun getting tools clean when I'm dirtier than the tools.

Charmin ultra strong and some soap, or one of those sterile wipes if I'm at the doctor's.

If they're nasty dirty, I use some brake cleaner. This may not be advisable on all tools.

The best method I've ever come across is a light coating of ATF on a rag. Doesn't dry out plastic handles, doesn't leave a noticeable film like other oils if used lightly enough but still protects them, and cleans better than anything else.

I have house tools that stay inside for the little projects around the house.

I wipe mine down every single time I use them, and I also make a point to wipe down everything every so often. When I clean everything, I use some PB blaster and a rag.
